Entretemps, sa vie a basculé. Naturalisé français, il est devenu un otage dans son pays natal. L’écrivain qui dénonçait le totalitarisme qui vient en a été la victime. Détenu dans les geôles algériennes de novembre 2024 à novembre 2025, après une parodie de procès et une condamnation à une lourde peine, il a subi l’injustice et l’humiliation. Il a été dépossédé de tout ce qui faisait sa vie antérieure et finalement expulsé. Il a tout perdu mais il en est sorti plus fort encore, plus déterminé, plus libre que jamais.\n
